Our Mission & Vision
Our Founding Story
In order to get the whole picture of who Future Tech Skills Inc is, an explanation of our primary organization, IT4Nonprofit (IT4NP) is necessary.
Mission & Purpose
IT4NP was founded in 2017 as a 501c(3) non-profit organization to provide IT assistance exclusively to non-profit organizations. Our founder observed after volunteering at various non-profits for over a decade it was apparent that many organizations were really good at providing and helping others in their mission and cause, but were having difficulties choosing and managing their IT services and infrastructure. In many cases, vendors were taking advantage of this lack of knowledge to overcharge and sell items that were not necessary to the organization’s needs or mission.
Goal
IT4NP was founded to assist these organizations in making informed decisions and help determine what is really needed, assist in their discussions and negotiations with vendors, develop technical roadmaps, and provide basic support for their users. This helps to ensure the organization is getting what they really need at the best price, or in many cases, deeply discounted through vendor non-profit discounts. IT4NP does not charge organizations for this consulting, it is what we were founded to do.
How we help
Another category that IT4NP assists non-profit organizations is in technology cost reduction, by finding special pricing for 501c(3) organizations, negotiating with vendors, and finding new ways that provide better capabilities at the same or a lower price. While working with these organizations, and to get to the point of who and why FTSI was founded, it was noticed that while we can assist these organizations in their strategic and cost planning, we are not equipped to support their day to day operations. While we have future plans to open a Network Operations Center (NOC) to provide this kind of support, we would more importantly want to train up the next generation of Technical Leaders to take the torch into the future. That’s when the idea of providing technical scholarships was created.
and now.. Future Tech Skills Inc
The board at IT4NP decided to expand the current not-for-profit and add a ‘doing business as’ name, well, because ‘IT4Nonprofit’ doesn’t exactly spell out ‘Training Future Tech Leaders’. The name ‘Future Tech Skills Inc’ was chosen as it is concise and we think provides insight into our mission: We want anyone who is interested in a technology related career to have the opportunity to learn and succeed without having to spend thousands on training.
Our goal is to provide training and mentoring to all who are in need and may not have the means to afford it, while allowing enough flexibility to work around their schedules. It is our calling to train and mentor others to embark on a new and rewarding career in the technology industry.
Our hope is that those we train and mentor will become future FTSI trainers and mentors. Because that is a goal worthy of our investment.
